The Honda Civic Type R TCR will again be on the grid at this year’s Nürburgring 24-hour race, which will take place on 5/6 June.

The car, which for a third year will be entered under the Castrol Honda Racing banner, took the TCR class victory in the race in both 2019 and 2020.

WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup race winner Tiago Monteiro (ALL-INKL.DE Münnich Motorsport) and Dominik Fugel, who is competing in TCR Germany for Team Honda ADAC Sachsen, will be taking part in the 24-hour race for the third time after their 2019 and 2020 victories in the Civic Type R TCR.

As was the case two years ago, they will be supported by Cedrik Totz, a multiple participant in the VLN Endurance Championship at the Nürburgring, as well as another WTCR driver, Néstor Girolami (ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport), who will be part of the Castrol Honda Racing team for the first time.

Nestor Girolami said: “I’m extremely happy to join the team for the Nürburgring 24 Hours. I know the team has been really successful winning the last two editions so the aim is high and is definitely to secure the triple crown. I want to thank Honda for this opportunity as well as my team-mates for their trust.”

Tiago Monteiro said: “It’s a real honour to be part of this line-up for a third year in a row. The Nurburgring 24 Hours is one of the most demanding events in the world, so I’m very grateful to Honda Germany for giving me the chance to be part of the team again. The competition will be tough, but we are very motivated as we go in search of a third-straight win for the Honda Civic Type R TCR.”
